How is all the GOOLOSH that you have come up with going to fall together.

Simple, write ideas on note cards and shuffle them around, Yada Yada. Yeah that works great for research papers but not well with computers.

Basically, think of the navigation of your site and your categories, sub-categories, and their sub-categories. Make a folder structure. Don't go too deep though. Keep similar ideas together. Think about how you are going to tie ideas together to get from one topic to another. Same idea of building a tree. Start with your main topic and work you way down, connecting like ideas together.

Make a list of all the content you are going to use on your site. Create a bulleted list if you need to. You can create bulleted lists under other lists. This will allow you to copy and paste ideas in different areas and help you figure out how you are going to tie all your ideas to one mega site!

Keep everything logical. Try not to let your bulleted list get too deep either. You will find yourself getting lost. If you get lost, how do you think your users will feel?

Example:

  • My New Site

    • Photos

      • New Photos

      • Hot Photos

    • References

      • Reference1

      • Reference2
