Preface
Welcome to my humorous rendition of webdesign. I have included comments which
hope to entertain and keep you interested with the articles. I hope you enjoy
these tutorials and find them beneficial to you.
I have been doing web design since 1995 at age 13. I got interested in web design
because a few of my friends had their own sites where they could post whatever
they wanted. Any colors, say anything you want, animations, and anyone from
anywhere in the entire world could see it! Now that is what I wanted to do!
Of
course I started out with a prefabricated site that the server had already
made. LOL But eventually I learned how to make my own HTML and produce my own
pages and upload them. My talents grew and grew, and maturity too of course.
LOL I spent most of my learning time looking at sites and the click the
VIEW SOURCE and reading the codes to figure out how they made that happen.
I
began doing web site design for several companies in my area. Including my
rafting company. Once working there, I found out about this new ASP by Microsoft.
I began reading and studying ASP in 2000. I began writing and using my own
scripts in the year 2001 when I got my first domain. Thought I was a big shot
then. By the end of the year 2002 I had produced 24 large working scripts and
many smaller ASP scripts while attending college for Civil Engineering. ASP
and Civil Engineering.... what do they have in common?
End
of the year 2002 I started producing these tutorials and releasing the
programs. Many hours were spent re-commenting each program so new programmers
could understand and write their own ASP scripts.

And
now to the beginning of your journey, on figuring out, how you can become a
web page designer!
Do
I Even Need A Web Site?
YES! I don't care who you are or what you do. You can only benefit from
owning a website. A domain and web hosting costs less
then US $5 a month.
-
Email, is one of the leading
contacts today. Even if you are just purchasing items for your
business. By purchasing a domain you can have
YourName@YourDomain.com
and not
OneHotBooty98754@HotMale.com
-
Presence, being present on the
web and having a page that people can access and contact you by is a
plus. If you own a business, it's advertisement and comforting for
your consumers to have a web presence.
-
Family & Friends,
well obviously you are the internet a good bit to be reading this, you
probably chat and/or email family and friends. Wouldn't it be great to
have your own domain. JohnDoe@AdamsFamily.com
and give email addresses to the rest of the family. Plus, you can post
photos and info. Keep your entire family in touch. Need to send Aunt
Betty a Christmas card and forgot her mailing address and you don't
want to call your mother-in-law.... LOL It's great when you can list
your website in the profile and family members can visit and interact.
Just when you thought you didn't need a website. Small Business Ideas!!! Ok, you may say, well I only own a small business like an
ice cream stand. You are probably not going to gain any business from the
internet by setting up a website. Not many people search for an ice cream stand at
a specific town. But, if tourism a plus in your area. You could advertise
with hotels and other area attractions, let them offer something free from
your stand with their offers. If you get one person out of the group, the
rest of them will buy and you make money. Plus, tourists come back! But, for
you to be able to offer such things you must have a web presence. That big
fancy hotel doesn't want to list you as IceCreamBob@hotmail.com
but maybe
IceCreamGiveAway@MyTownIceShopName.com.
Today you can buy domain names fairly cheap so you can obtain your custom
email address.
