Checking ODBC Access Database Drivers

Not having the correct ODBC Microsoft Access Driver installed is definitely a problem!

STEP 1: Open the ODBC Data Source Administrator

In Windows 98 Go to Control Panel then 32bit ODBC
In Windows 2000 / XP / XP Pro Go to Control Panel then Administration Tools and then Data Sources ODBC

If you can't find it, Click on "
Start", then "Programs", and look for "Administrative Controls". Still can't find it? Are you logged into your computer as an administrator? If you still can't find it, then it isn't installed and you need to install it using your Windows CD.

STEP 2: Select the Drivers tab . This will display a list of ODBC drivers installed on your computer.

Look down the list for Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)

The version number of Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) should be 4 or above. If you do not have these drivers or the version number is below version 4, get the new drivers below.
